Why This Festival Matters
More than just a gourmet event, the Ile aux Nattes Chocolate Festival is a partnership between Destination Ile aux Nattes and Edenia Chocolat with a powerful objective. We are working together to :
- Stimulate local tourism and create new sources of revenue for our community.
- Empowering local residents through education and sustainable agriculture.
- Protect our environment by promoting valuable, tree-friendly crops such as cocoa.
- Showcasing the incredible talent of the artisans, musicians and food vendors of Ile aux Nattes.
- To develop a sustainable annual event that will bring joy and prosperity to our ile for years to come.
Festival Program Highlights
22 Juillet : Planter pour l'Avenir
The festival kicks off with a vital initiative focusing on reforestation and sustainable cocoa farming. In partnership with Edenia, we are offering a unique opportunity to our entire community:
- Community Cocoa Plantation: Six cocoa plants will be supplied to each neighborhood on the ile, becoming public property for the benefit of all.
- Cocoa cultivation training: Learn the art and science of cocoa cultivation from experts. Anyone from the local population can take part in this training free of charge.
This day is dedicated to empowering our community and planting the seeds of a greener, more prosperous future on Ile aux Nattes!
23 - 25 Juillet : Plongez au Cœur du Monde du Chocolat
Take part in our exclusive chocolate-making courses run by Edenia Chocolat, aimed at aspiring professionals and curious tourists alike!
Professional Chocolate Making Course
- What: A comprehensive 3-day course, transforming raw materials into exquisite chocolate.
- Who: Ideal for chocolate-loving tourists and professional chefs.
- Quand : Tous les jours de 9h00 à 12h00 à Aurora Lodge.
- Cost: 400,000 Ariary per person (including all raw materials). All profits go directly to Edenia Chocolat.
- Languages: Taught in Malagasy, French and English.
- Capacity: Limited to just 10 participants to ensure personalized teaching.
- How to take part: To reserve your place, please send us an e-mail to destination@ileauxnattes.org at least 4 days before the date you wish to take part.
Practical Chocolate Making Workshop for Tourists
- What: A fun and engaging 2-hour workshop where you'll have the opportunity to create your own chocolates.
- Who: Perfect for tourists looking for an introduction to chocolate-making.
- Quand : Tous les après-midis de 14h00 à 16h00 à Aurora Lodge.
- Cost: 75,000 Ariary per person.
- Capacity: 10 participants per session.

26 - 27 Juillet : Expo Chocolat & Marché Artisanal
Get ready for a vibrant cultural celebration! Our two-dayChocolate Expo & Artisan Market are the heart of the festival, showcasing the best of the Ile aux Nattes.
- Horaires d’ouverture : 10h00 – 20h00 (Les activités ferment à 18h00) dans le jardin du Jungle Bar
- Entrance fee: 20,000 Ariary for visitors. Free admission for all ile residents!

- Local music and dance: Enjoy four exciting concerts each day, featuring traditional local music and dance.

- Edenia Chocolate Making Expo & Demonstrations: Witness the magic of chocolate making and taste the exquisite products of Edenia Chocolat.
